The tasting (and tasting room) were beautiful. There were people from all over the world, and TONI, our guide, was charming, knowledgeable about the process and product, accommodating, and helped everyone have a great time. And the “tour” we took (really a multipart presentation of Tullamore’s history and the basic process of whisky making) was a nice little revisit of how folks make fire water. The food in the restaurant was delicious and exactly what we needed after more than a day straight of travel from the U.S. The inside is warm and inviting, the gift shop has something for the whisky lovers in your life. The building is handsome and authentic looking, given Tullamore’s history in the town. The center’s situation on the Grand Canal is idyllic. Though the building we visited wasn’t the distillery, as I thought originally, and was rather the “welcome center,” the experience still didn’t disappoint. Are itinerary included an immediate drive cross county to Galway, so we’d been planning stopping at Tullamore since we saw it was more or less halfway there. If you want to take an Uber, be prepared to wait upwards of two hours for your ride home. Forget public transport, no MARTA line out to the stadium (which seems insane). If you drive, you will walk about a mile to the stadium. Which quickly segways to the bad, if you don't stay at the Battery, getting to the stadium as a tourist is a nightmare. The energy is good, nice music, and little fireworks. Starting with the good, we enjoyed the baseball, and the views from almost any seat were great. Don't waste your money on this, huge let down, even if we got to see BP, The thought of taking a child on this tour would have been excruciatingly painful, Braves, ya'll gotta do betta! Our guide finally took us down to the field, still in the stands we were adjacent to the Braves dugout, at which time we were told that we might be able to get the players to interact? So that was a big no for us, I just wanted to see more of the inner workings of the braves organization, I honestly felt like this was a promotion for their upgraded areas, down to telling us how much each space cost. I wanted to see things pertaining to braves baseball, you know, the game! We did get to go up in the press box which was cool, but that was about it. We took off on our tour, which consisted of basically getting to see places you are never going to be able to attend, suites, hank Arron club, infinity club, etc. Needless to say, I was really disappointed. First things first, bad news, batting practice had been cancelled due to the fact the team traveled late the preceding night. We got a bottle of water, Braves baseball and a braves pen before we headed out on the tour. We arrived at 3pm, game time was 720 that night, met by a nice elderly man that was going to be our tour guide, along with another couple. My wife gave me the VIP tour as a birthday gift, we are huge Braves fans so we thought this would be an awesome experience. Another stadium designed by someone who has never watched a game The layout of the stadium is the worst I have seen except Tropicana Field. The concessions were well run but expensive. There is no public transit to get there either and it is located on the intersection of I 75 and 275 well west of Atlanta. The parking is awful, not run by the stadium and not close to the stadium and the stadium is on a hill. If you attend a game here get seats close enough so you don't get a sore neck trying to watch the game. Most parks curve or bend beyond the first and third base bag so you can see 80 percent of the action. Whoever designed the seating never watched a baseball game. You can see the pitcher or the batter without looking almost 90 degrees to the left. These seat which are expensive have a perfect view to watch the umpire who covers second base because the seats face the left field wall all down the fowl line. The seats we got were in the 9th row beyond first base. Applying cross-correlation to scores for the three dimensions of burnout with scores on other instruments for assessing psychological disorders, allowed us to identify “at risk” profiles which produced highly relevant results with regard to burnout prevention. Conclusions: The factorial structure shares strong similarities with those found in the literature for versions of the MBI which have been translated into different languages, analyses showed excellent internal consistency in the three sub dimensions and the convergent validity has been demonstrated. These results are discussed in the context of preventing work-related burnout and more broadly, toward preventing psychosocial risks. These groups are described and analyzed considering both MBI scores and responses to additional psychological health questionnaires designed to measure indicators of strain (stress, anxiety and depression symptoms, and need for recovery). Hierarchical classification analysis based on respondents’ scores for Exhaustion, Cynicism and Professional Inefficacy resulted in six distinct employee profiles. Average scores were grouped into five clusters of identifying variables chosen to provide a clear picture of mean scores in France: gender, age, occupational status, company size and business sector. Results: Psychometric analysis revealed excellent internal consistency for the three dimensions of MBI (Exhaustion, Cynicism and Professional Inefficacy), a factorial structure almost identical to that reported in the original study, and satisfactory convergent validity. Methods: After performing both forward and back translations, a questionnaire was administered to a representative sample of 1,312 French employees. As a major social issue that can potentially affect any employee in any field, we felt it was both timely and necessary to conduct a validation study adapted to French culture. Burnout has received considerable media attention around the world as public awareness grows about this increasingly prevalent phenomenon. The MBI-Human Services Survey, MBI-Educators Survey and MBI-GS questionnaires have been validated in numerous languages and are currently being used in many countries, as attested by the abundant literature on the subject. Martine Feltrin, Preventis, 10-12 rue Jean Nicot, 75007 Paris, Franceīackground: This study presents the French validation of the Maslach Burnout Inventory – General Survey (MBI-GS). Christine Bocéréan, Department of Psychology, UMR 7118 (CNRS), Lorraine University, Nancy, FranceĮmilie Dupret, Preventis, 10-12 rue Jean Nicot, 75007 Paris, France I think that it has become a tee shirt in Australia. His almost constant comment,"Why is it so?" flowed throughout his demonstrations. He's "Bill Nye, the Science Guy" or "Watch Mr.Wizard" with a bit if an attitude. It is worthwhile to search Google or YouTube for some of his videos. I am going to see if I can get an interlibrary loan or something like that. If his prose is as exciting as his presentations it should be a great read. His snappy pace, gritty voice, constant sense of wonderment and really, really showbiz physical science so well suited to the medium of television inspired me to think just great things about Nature and how the world of science could help us all understand it all. I do remember seeing Professor Julius Sumner Miller on american television on the Steve Allen show in the early 1960s. At this time (July 2013) there appears to be copies available from Australia for 128 dollars US, a bit steep for my taste. If you can find this book, get it, read it, keep it and read it again. Schools have abandoned integrity and rigor." How true, and even more so today. We don't have academic honesty or intellectual rigor. He was ahead of his time with this quote, "Boys and girls are emerging from every level of school with certificates and degrees, but they can't read, write or calculate. He took a short look at the equation which filled an entire blackboard, made a few grunts, and "Hmmms", and calmly wrote in the answer faster than anyone expected. I was privileged enough to see him address the School of Physics here at Queensland University where they would set a challenge for him on each of his visits, usually a very complex mathematical equation describing some law of physics - but there was no answer. He came here many times, most likely because of his great friendship with Australian physicist Prof. We also shared a love of Australia, my home country. I identify with many of his characteristics his unending curiosity, his obsession with finding out why things worked as they did, his obsession with reading, his love of correct grammar, his hatred of human wastefulness and his love of horseradish of all things. Later, he was to use his own money to improve the library's range of books. He was born with an insatiable curiosity, and read his home-town library dry. This is, as the name suggests, his autobiography, completed in part by his wife Alice after his death in 1987. With his simple experiments, he made us think for ourselves, and his comic relief assistant always made the show entertaining. During his lifetime, he single-handedly promoted physics (and learning) to the general public more than any other person. He grew up on the family farm in the United States, before pursuing his passion for physics. This man was a hugely underrated physicist, most likely because of his TV celebrity status through his show, "Why Is It So?". Professor Miller, born in 1909, was his Eastern European parents' ninth child. He used the developments as reminder to have "faith in physics", before moving on with his show. "It went! It went! Oh ho! … Mamma mia did it go!" Professor Miller exclaimed in shock and delight. He returned to his lesson to explain what may have gone wrong, when an almighty bang thundered through the set. The fingers are pushed toward each other. Support Symmetric A metre stick is supported horizontally on two fingers symmetrically placed. Then he waited … and waited … but the drum remained disappointingly intact. Here is a presentation of this demonstration by Julius Sumner Miller (Demonstrations in Physics pages 16 and 17): Metre stick on two fingers I. I smiled as I watched the lesson on air pressure, a 14-minute. Next, he doused it with a watering can, and later, ice. His email today included a link to a show he had rediscovered: Professor Julius Sumner Miller’s Demonstrations in Physics. Soon after, it started spewing steam and the Professor and an assistant sealed it up. Unfortunately however, the much needed 1960s push. The beloved presenter of Why Is It So? graced Australian television screens from 1963-1986, sharing his passion for physics through a variety of entertaining experiments. (chemistry), and Julius Sumner Miller (physics) inspired a generation of future scientists and teachers. That's a (very rough) description of Professor Sumner Miller's 1964 attempt to crush a metal drum with a dash of water and the power of physics. It starts with a flop, and ends with a bang, and not once does Professor Julius Sumner Miller's faith in physics falter. If the plan or insurer does not set up a process through which individuals can obtain test with no upfront costs, then the plan and insurer must reimburse in the full cost of the test, even if the test costs more than $12. Many commercially available at-home tests run about $12 or less per test. Specifically, if a plan or insurer establishes this type of direct coverage option, then the plan or insurer is permitted to limit the reimbursement for tests purchased outside of their network to $12 per test (or the actual price of the test, if less). If a plan or insurer sets up a network of convenient options such as pharmacies or retailers, including online retailers, in which individuals on their plans can get their tests’ cost covered up front (at the point of sale), then it is permitted to limit the per test reimbursement amount for retailers outside of that network.
My starts were good all week, so it has been positive in Latvia and I liked the format and doing the three races here. I’ve improved a lot in the sand since last year. It is quite tough to always fight with the same guy but I think we can say this is one of his favorite tracks, so I was happy to be there with him winning some motos and one GP. We shared the points and the guy who is 3rd behind us is a little bit further. Teammate Rene Hofer had flown back to Austria the previous weekend for surgery to fix a broken left shoulder. Vialle defends an 8-point gap in the championship picture. In the second race he dueled with main title rival Jago Geerts and ran 2nd behind the Belgian, earning the same overall result as the pair tied on points. The Frenchman led from start to finish in the first moto for his second win in Latvia. Tom Vialle was 6th fastest in the MX2 Timed Practice with his KTM 250 SX-F and the ranking was enough for a decent slot towards the inside of the start gate. Let’s see what we can do when we race again.” I tried to catch Jeffrey but I was a bit tired from the first moto. I tried to stay as close as possible to the front. The second moto was better even if I was not riding so free because I hit my back on a landing towards the end of the first race. I paid for the mistake and crash at the start of the first moto because I had to come from far back and could only make 9th. Tony Cairoli: “Another OK weekend but I feel it was possible to win again today. I’m super-happy to keep that position to make the podium and to come away from these races without any crashes. I felt good in the first moto but at the beginning of the second I was suffering. This year has been crazy and despite the lack of the training and the riding I could still manage a 3rd overall here. The femur was horrible and the another one with the collarbone: it meant hardly any time on my bike. Jorge Prado: “The road up until the restart of MXGP has been very tough with two injuries. I had a few little ‘gifts’ here and there but it was good for the championship.” Another GP win, so another good day and I want to thank Red Bull KTM because the bike was awesome. I struggled a bit in the first moto, with arm-pump also, but it helped to be 4th and then leading the second moto from the second lap meant the overall. Jeffrey Herlings: “The competition gets higher every year and we are all closer to each other, so the starts are key. He battled with teammate Prado and then tried to catch Herlings in the later stages of the 30 minute and 2 lap chase but classified 2nd for 4th in the final rankings. The nine-times world champion was a stronger front-runner in the second moto. Tony Cairoli, who won the Grand Prix of Riga the previous Wednesday, suffered with a mistake at the start of the first moto and had to recover positions to make 9th place by the flag. The reigning MX2 Champion has been blighted by a broken leg and collarbone for his first term in the premier class but started well and guided the KTM 450 SX-F to his maiden trophy in the MXGP division. Jorge Prado marked a small milestone in his career by riding to a 4-3 scorecard and finishing 3rd overall on the day. Herlings went 5-3-1 for the week and has a 46-point margin in the MXGP standings as he profited from problems affecting rival Tim Gajser. Herlings blasted free from the rest of the pack in the second sprint however to earn his first checkered flag from the six motos at Kegums and his third overall triumph of the season (following successes in Britain and Holland earlier this year). The Dutchman didn’t make the best of starts in the opening race and a small crash and a bout of arm-pump limited him to 4th. Jeffrey Herlings rode to Pole Position – his first of the Latvian chapter – in the morning Timed Practice session and placed his KTM 450 SX-F first into the gate for the two motos. Red Bull KTM completed their extended stay in the country for rounds three, four and five with a total of six podium results and three victories between four racers. The third and final Grand Prix to take place at the Kegums circuit occurred in sunny and hot conditions and across an altered layout of the shallow sand that was still a fast and very bumpy test for the MXGP and MX2 riders. Tom Vialle walked the rostrum for the second time this week in MX2. Jeffrey Herlings picked up his 89th career win for the Grand Prix of Kegums while Jorge Prado captured his first podium finish in the premier class. Red Bull KTM have ended the three-races in one-week spell in Latvia still in control of the 2020 MXGP and MX2 FIM Motocross World Championships. See 'Learn more about sizing' for more info.
